On September 19, 2011 Cobblestone Hall and Showtime Events had the pleasure of hosting the regional Wedding Wire Networking Event! The space looked beautiful with gorgeous linens, colorful centerpieces (thank you English Garden!) and a huge turn out of industry vendors. This was a great opportunity for vendors in the surrounding Raleigh area to get together, network, and listen to a fantastic educational presentation from Sonny Ganguly, the Chief Marketing Officer from WeddingWire.com.

Mr. Ganguly’s presentation concentrated on the power and importance of social media, optimizing websites for the mobile revolution, and much more. Extremely valuable information for all in attendance.

Information about Sonny Ganguly: Sonny leads WeddingWire’s marketing strategy, customer acquisition, and business development. Prior to joining WeddingWire, Sonny was in a management program at Wal-Mart where he led marketing, sales, and retail strategy development. Before this experience, Sonny spent four years at Kraft Foods where he managed numerous consumer brands, including the JELL-O business with P&L responsibility for over $800 Million. During his tenure, his brands’ reached record volume, revenue, and profitability levels. Sonny has structured partnerships with companies such as NBC, MTV, Condé Nast (Modern Bride and Brides magazines), Mattel, Universal, Dole, Reynolds, Costco, and Safeway. (Info from WeddingWire.com website) Sonny holds a B.A. in Economics with a focus in Management and Marketing from The University of Pennsylvania and attended Harvard Business School for his M.B.A. where he served as President of the Marketing Club.

The evening was both fun and informative! The food from Rocky Top Catering was fantastic and Joe Bunn kept the party going with some great music. It was wonderful to get together with old and new friends and to learn about new opportunities in the special events and wedding industry. Thank you to everyone who came out!

Congrats Jenny & Drew!!

9/17/11 will always be special for Jenny and Drew who had their wedding ceremony and reception at Cobblestone Hall. It was magical day from start to finish!

The room was alive and vibrant with colorful purple and orange linens. The lighting matched the theme and set the mood perfectly for the room. The patio outside was also active with an extra bar for the guests. The centerpieces were beautiful and the food from Triangle was delicious! Everything was perfect!

The guests toasted the happy couple and danced the night away to the great sounds and tunes from the Boomerang Band! Family and friends sent the couple off with a sparkler exit while Jenny and Drew rode away in a rickshaw to begin their future together! It was a perfect ending to a perfect day for the happy couple! Everyone at Cobblestone Hall and Showtime Events was honored to be apart of the amazing event.

Marcell & John Tie the Knot!

Congratulations to the beautiful couple who celebrated their marriage with family and friends at Cobblestone Hall this Saturday, September 10, 2011! Their reception was an elegant affair- from the gold linens and the gorgeous candelabra centerpieces, to the beautifully designed cake. The guests were delighted with the yummy food and the upbeat music. Excitement was in the air as everyone celebrated this magical day! Family and friends toasted to the couples’ new future together and sent them off with a beautiful sparkler exit!

A Special Day for Brooke & Matt!

What an amazing evening! Brook and Matt and their friends and family gathered together at Cobblestone Hall on September 3, 2011 to celebrate the beginning of their new, exciting future together. The weather could not have been more beautiful for the reception and the room looked stunning.  

Brooke and Matt’s reception featured beautiful colors including dark purples and whites, with additional LED lighting throughout the venue. The centerpieces and décor were the perfect compliments for the rest of the room and decor.    

The food was delicious, the lighting amazing, and the DJ was awesome! The two families and their friends danced the night away celebrating this magical evening. Everyone had a great time! We were so happy to be apart of their special day.

Cara & Mike Are Married!!

August 27, 2011 is a day to remember for Cara and Mike!

The beautiful backdrop of Cara and Mike's ceremony!

Even with Hurricane Irene wreaking chaos outside, Cara and Mike’s ceremony and reception at Cobblestone Hall could not have been more wonderful. The venue has a very special place in Cara and Mike’s hearts as Cara’s great grandfather was the original architect of City Market, making Cobblestone Hall the perfect location for their wedding! The fabric backdrop for their wedding ceremony even had a sketch of the roof of Cobblestone Hall.

Gold and white colors gave the room a sense of understated elegance and there were bursts of gorgeous flowers all around. After a beautiful ceremony, the two families and friends socialized and danced the evening away. A delicious buffet was served by Catering Works while SwiftCreek provided the awesome music!

Family and friends toasted to their marriage, future happiness and love. By the time we sent Cara and Mike off, the storm had passed and guests remained to celebrate this magical evening!

Meet Courtney Thompson- Showtime Events’ New Intern!

Cobblestone Hall is excited to welcome Courtney Thompson as the newest intern for Showtime Events. She is 22 years old and a senior at North Carolina State University majoring in Communications, with a concentration in Media. Courtney grew up in Raleigh, NC but moved to Charlotte, NC right before she began high school. She has always been an NC State fan so she knew she would end back up in Raleigh eventually!

 Courtney has been interested in event planning for years and has always considered pursuing a career in the field after graduation in December 2011. She recently interned in New York City this summer at La Pomme NYC which is a well known event space in the Chelsea area of the city. While there Courtney was able to work directly with the staff at the venue planning birthday parties, corporate events, fundraisers, and more. But while in the “big city” she realized that she did not want to live anywhere but North Carolina and returned home when her internship ended.

She hopes to continue to gain hands on experience while working with Showtime Events, especially in wedding planning and full event management. Over the next few months Courtney will be assisting with event production and have a chance to experience all aspects of the pitching, selling, planning, and execution process from start to finish.

Away from work Courtney loves food, hanging out with friends, shopping, fashion, traveling, and spending time with her dog Lucy. Some of Courtney’s favorite TV shows include Gossip Girl, The Bachelor, Pretty Little Liars, and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (all guilty pleasures!) She is also an active alumnus of her sorority at NC State, Zeta Tau Alpha.

We are excited to have Courtney on the Showtime Events and Cobblestone Hall team for the next few months. Look for her at events!

Summer Greer and Will Smith’s Wedding Reception!

Congrats to Summer and Will!

What a perfect night! A great couple and their closest friends and family came together at Cobblestone Hall on 7/9/11 to celebrate the start of their new life together. Their reception was full of delicious food, stunning lighting, and lots of dancing. This group LOVED to dance, and dance they did!

Summer and Will’s reception featured LED Up-lighting all around the room, a slide show with incredible and happy images of the couple, LED cocktail tables that surprised the guests (more on that below), awesome food from Rocky Top Catering, and wonderful centerpieces from The English Garden Florist.

Everything Looked Incredible!

There were many surprises Summer and Will planned in advance for their guests with Showtime Events. Breaking from the traditional “wedding party entrance” the couple entered to the thumping and pounding song Enter The Sandman from Metallica. The guests went WILD as the song built up and up and the newly married couple burst into the room smiling, cheering, and dancing onto the dance floor. Everyone jumped out of their seats as the lighting in the room flashed, strobed, and changed to the beat of the escalating music.

Later in the evening the LED cocktail tables around the dance floor were turned on the the surprise of every one in attendance. The dance floor came alive as the entire room became part of the party with changing lights around the perimeter of the room and the illuminated tables around the dance floor bouncing and color changing to the beat of the music from the DJ. It was amazing and the guests loved every second of it.

Another surprise was one of the best men Drew grabbed a guitar and sang a wonderful song to the couple right after the cake was cut. Literally every single person in the room sang the song with him and it was a memorable moment that brought chills to everyone there. It was a really special moment.

Juliana and Andrew Get Married!

July 2, 2011 will always be special for Juliana and Andrew! It could not have been a more perfect day to celebrate the start their lives together as a married couple at Cobblestone Hall.

The two families and their friends danced (a lot!) the afternoon away with Juliana and Andrew and toasted to their future happiness and love. A delicious meal was served by Cafe Luna, and Steve Stowe from Bunn DJ Co. rocked the house with great music!

Mike and Maria’s wedding!

Mike and Maria had a gorgeous ceremony and reception on June 25th, 2011 at Cobblestone Hall. The entire room was bursting with colors, candles, and much more!

The ceremony was beautiful as the couple was married in the historic venue. After the ceremony the guests enjoyed a fun and upbeat cocktail hour and then the real party began at the reception. This group danced right till the end of the event!

Sara Sherman and Mike Bowdoin gathered together with friends and family in the celebration of their marriage at Cobblestone Hall. Their reception looked exceptional with help from Showtime Events,  The English Garden, Swank Cakes, Rock Top Catering, Joe Bunn DJ and Walters&Walters and A Southern Soiree.

Dark blues with splashes of color at every turn highlighted this wonderful reception! This event was full of yummy food, upbeat music, warm up-lighting, and will never be forgotten. Congrats again the new Mr. and Mrs. Bowdoin!
